Carlsbad

The Carlsbad Unified School District is home to 9 elementary schools, 3 middle schools and one high school. Last year, all of the districts elementary schools scored at or above the California Department of Education's performance target for all schools. CUSD campuses are collectively highly regarded, as they have received numerous awards and recognition for academic excellence. The district is currently pushing for the community to pass a bond measure that would fund major district-wide enhancements, including technology upgrades and overall structural improvements. According to a recent article on the district website, CUSD trustees have approved preliminary site plans for a new high school to be built in northeast Carlsbad with an ocean view.
